Laurent Layrol, Founder & Business Development Officer

Laurent Layrol is responsible for worldwide sales, marketing and commercial activities for GE-DATA. He has almost twenty years of experience in the geospatial industry, working in more than 40 different countries as a consultant on Remote Sensing and GIS. Based in the U.S. since 1998, he has managed research programs with USDA, NASA and large, privately-owned agriculturally-based businesses. Prior to founding GE-Data, Laurent worked for a private company active in GIS and Remote Sensing in the agricultural domain. His specialization led to service delivery for two years in ETHIOPIA managing geo-spatial programs for a $120 Million development project. Laurent graduated from ENGREF with a Master degree in Natural Resources Management and Geo-spatial technologies and from INA-PG with a Master degree in Agri-Business management.

Daan van Setten, Founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Daan van Setten founded GE-Data in 2006. He oversees daily management of GE-Data France as well as all research and development activities for France and the U.S. Daan has culminated over fifteen years of experience in the geospatial industry and community into a unique offering of geo-marketing products and consulting services. Prior to founding GE-Data, Daan worked for GEOSYS, a private company active in GIS and Remote Sensing for the agricultural sector. With expertise and increased responsibilities in project management, Daan first became head of the Project Department and later in charge of the GIS Software Development department. Before GEOSYS, Daan was a remote sensing project engineer at the Amsterdam-based K&M Consulting company. Daan obtained an engineering Master degree in Applied Physics (MSc) from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He additionally obtained a degree in GIS and Remote Sensing (DESS) from the Centre d’Etudes Spatiales des Rayonnements (CESR) in Toulouse, France.

Olivier Francois, Founder & Chief Operation Officer (COO)

Olivier Francois is responsible for GE-Data project and data supplier management for partnerships in France and the U.S. Prior to GE-Data, Olivier worked for GEOSYS, a private company active in GIS and Remote Sensing for the agricultural sector. He served as a project leader for numerous high-visibility remote sensing projects. Mr. Francois consulted with various institutes and private companies, assessing needs and leading the development of GIS-based management tools. He became CTO in charge of the remote sensing data supply chain, application development, web based services, and research activities. Olivier François obtained an MSc in Agronomy from one of the leading postgraduate schools (ENSA Rennes) in France with a specialization in geomatics applied to land management

Charles Joesten, Chief Quality Officer & Business Development Executive

Charles is responsible for quality processes in U.S. operations and contributes to sales and business development. He brings extensive quality and process efficiency expertise to GE-Data from nearly eighteen years of consulting and advisory services provided to commercial and government clients. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has managed numerous complex programs to guide clients through strategy, transformation, process, and performance challenges. His key contributions to clients in office automation solutions, performance standards, and cost savings are perfect compliments to the GE-Data product suite. Charles is also currently a Director of Service Delivery at ICOR Management Solutions. Prior to joining GE-Data, Charles served in senior management roles with several of the leading management and IT consulting firms. Charles obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University.

Kesh Prasad, Senior Strategic Advisor

Based in metro Washington DC area, Mr. Prasad runs a software startup that focuses on customer feedback and relationship management. He is also an executive in residence at the George Washington University School of Business and a consultant to National Geographic Imaging. He has held executive and supervisory positions in his extensive global career that strategically compliment the GE-Data product and service suite. Notably, he has held executive level roles with Royal Dutch Shell, Oberoi Hotels, Promus Hotels (now Hilton), J. D. Power and Associates, and Opinion Research. Mr. Prasad began his career on the faculty of the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad after receiving a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
